Testimonials

The students of Northwoods Catholic School experienced an educational treat. The North Harris County Regional Water Authority’s WATER IS LIFE Mobile Teaching Lab made a stop on campus. The students in grades first through eight had an opportunity to be educated on the water cycle and water’s many uses. Our six grade science students became so inspired by the program that they took on the task of making a water conservation video, as well as a poster campaign featuring water conservation tips. The students were most impressed with the interactive learning centers. Many of them were impressed with the decomposition rate of the common household items. One of the favorites was  the station that required the students to make an estimate of how much water it requires to accomplish many everyday task. For most students, the combination of learning while having fun was a big hit. After the presentation on water and stormwater pollution, students better understood  the importance of taking care of our water supply. The response was overwhelmingly positive.  The idea of taking such an interest in the education of students is a real benefit to our community.

Thank you,
Mrs. D. Small
Science Teacher
